Audi RRL Lamp

Audi RRL Lamp

This lamp uses spade-type interior light bulbs and consist of a pre-zinc plated and passivity progression pressed grid-plate made from slit coil and assembled and heat staked on to a moulded bulb-housing made from a high temperature resistant, reflective white PC + ABS PA66 with 40%. The grid-plate tracks are within the assembly operation (multi station rotary table type assembly station), individualised by bending the connections between the grid-plate tracks open (at a pre-scored point) in a pressing opreration and all items are heat dated fro treatability. Afterwards this component forms the base of an interior rear reading light (RRL).

Metal Stampings

G&G produces a large number and variety of different types of pressings and stampings in different sizes, materials and finishes in house. Materials include special alloys with a large variety of mechanical properties, hardness and surface structures. G&G has developed particular expertise in circuit stampings for use in over moulding.

Materials

  • mild steel
  • carbon steel
  • stainless steel
  • spring steel
  • copper
  • beryllium copper
  • brass
  • bronze
  • aluminium including reflector qualities
  • titanium

Press work is done in material thickness ranging from 0,12 mm to 8,- mm, whereby G&G's main emphasis is on materials of between 0,4 mm and 3,- mm, and widths ranging from 12,-mm to 400 mm.

Material Finishes

Components are produced, if required, with all types of material finishes including: :

  • Chrome plating
  • Nickel plating
  • Electroless nickel plating
  • Zinc plating
  • Silver plating
  • Electro ferretic coating
  • Nickel-diamante coating
  • Various deburring processes including tumbling and trowalizing

Pre-plated Coils

Pre-plated material coils used in our production include: :

  • Electro galvanised steel coils
  • Hot dipped galvanised steel coils
  • Silver plated electro bronze coils
  • Copper coils
  • Phosphor bronze coils
  • Polished and anodised aluminium coils
  • coated aluminium coils
  • A number of painted finishes including some suitable for shallow drawing. All coils can be sourced with protective PU-filament or paper layer and in a large variety of edge trims.

Press Shop Equipment

G&G Engineering has a fully equipped press shop:

  • 125 ton press open C-frame mechanical (geared) press with programmable pneumatic tandem gripper feeder
  • 100 ton CNC controlled open C-frame mechanical press with decoiler, coil straightener, programmable hydraulic feeder, press force measurement and electronic tool security
  • 75 ton CNC controlled open C-frame mechanical press with decoiler, programmable electronic feeder, press force measurement and electronic tool security
  • 68ton 4 pillar high speed press with double headed decoiler, coil straightener and mechanical gripper feed
  • 50 ton CNC controlled open C-frame mechanical press with press force measurement
  • Various decoilers and straighteners

G&G Engineering has more than 30 years press work experience and some of our current operators have worked over 25 years for G&G.

Volvo RRL Lamp

Volvo Car lamp

is for tube type interior light bulbs and consist of a 60/40 1/2 hard brass (with a very specific VPN) progression pressed grid-plate made of slit coil and over moulded with a PA66 with 40% (I am not sure with this and we need to check) glass fibre. The grid-plate tracks are in a separate operation, but within the moulding cycle individualised by removing the connections between the grid-plate tracks in a stamping process. Afterwards this component forms the base of an interior rear reading light (RRL).

Quality Certification

G&G's systems and processes are fully compliant with ISO Automotive Standards. Read More
